Journal

Blanket innovation for high-speed newspaper presses

The blanket BIRKAN Journal has been developed especially to meet the high requirements of coldset printing. One of its most important innovative features is certainly the microscopically thin intermediate layer under the surface, which controls paper feed characteristics.

These are intended to be slightly negative: Journal therefore offers well-balanced motor power take up on individually driven cylinders and is ideally suited for shaftless driven presses in satellite design.

The highly resistent surface has received a particular grinding with increased roughness. It gives excellent ink transfer and minimises linting on a wide variety of papers.

The hydrophobic carcass fabric guarantees stable conditions in production and very high durability.
