BIRKAN Masterprint UV N.D.

UV blanket for large formats and difficult substrates

BIRKAN Masterprint UV N.D. ("New Development") is a 4-layer printing blanket specifically designed for the high demands in large-format sheet-fed offset and packaging printing with UV inks.

The blanket‘s particularity resides in its unique construction: Instead of one thick compressible layer, it contains two thinner layers for optimized compressibility. BIRKAN Masterprint UV N.D. thus develops optimum transport and transfer properties regardless of the thickness and condition of the substrate to be printed – the ideal solution for difficult requirements, for example in metal and packaging printing.

The very fine ground surface structure ensures excellent printing results as well for halftone print as for solid print. Due to a special blend made of high quality EPDM rubber, the surface is extremely swell-resistant to UV inks and UV washing solutions and, what is more, highly resistant to heat. At the same time, this particular surface compound assists ink transfer and prevents piling, thus reducing blanket washing frequency.
