BIRKAN Masterprint EPDM

Consistently swelling resistant due to innovative blanket construction

New fields were explored by the applied researchers when developing this blanket: They invented the compressible layer made of EPDM, a synthetic rubber generally employed in blanket technology only for surfaces. This makes BIRKAN Masterprint EPDM absolutely resistant to UV inks or washing solutions that normally attack the printing blanket‘s structure and cause swelling.

In the meantime, this innovative construction has delivered an optimal performance in practice, especially in forms printing. Print results are excellent, in halftone as well as in solid printing.

The micro-ground surface minimizes ink and paper dust build-up and guarantees optimum sheet release.

Due to a specially developed, highly compressible pore system, the EPDM compressible layer is characterized by a consistently low sinking behaviour. The blanket allows frequent switches of paper types without any trouble.
