New photovoltaic system

Our new photovoltaic system has just been successfully connected to the grid. From now on, our production will run on electricity from renewable energies!

We are delighted to be making a contribution to greater sustainability and reducing our CO2 footprint. And that's not all: on production-free days, surplus electricity is fed into the grid – so the region also benefits.

Good scores in customer satisfaction survey

We are extremely pleased with the results of our latest customer satisfaction survey. Among other things, it revealed (once again) that 100% of participants are satisfied with their contact persons – 90% are even very satisfied! This is a confirmation of our philosophy of customer proximity and the best possible service orientation.

The other ratings:
• 100% are satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of our products (mostly very satisfied!);
• 4.5 (out of 5) stars for delivery times;
• 4.7 (out of 5) stars for the general cooperation.

Strategic partnership with Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions

Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions and BIRKAN GmbH have entered into a strategic partnership in the field of consumables. BIRKAN will be responsible for the procurement and finishing of printing blankets as well as other consumables for banknote and security printing.

The first joint product of this partnership has just been launched: MasterSECURE is a newly developed printing blanket for the Super Simultan and Super Orlof Intaglio machine classes. It ensures perfect and consistent printing results, improves production stability and, last but not least, is characterised by excellent sheet release (see also Koenig & Bauer News.)

CSU politicians visit BIRKAN

Commitment to the SME sector

CSU politicians visited Eching am Ammersee to find out about the situation of small and medium-sized businesses there. With their visit, the representatives of the people, among them the incumbent and re-candidate member of the Bavarian state parliament Alex Dorow, manifested their interest in the medium-sized companies of the region. The tour of the production facilities, led by managing director Mathias Klein, provided ample material for discussion on the struggle with energy prices, labour shortages and the current challenges facing the printing industry. Thank you for a stimulating exchange: Alex Dorow (member of state parliament), Siegfried Luge (mayor of Eching), Simone Drexl, Liane Luge, and Norbert Teubner (local mandate holders)!

BIRKAN is ISO-9001 certified!

Our company founder Alois Kandlbinder did never fail to ask his customers about their satisfaction: striving for quality has a long tradition and top priority in all areas in this house. BIRKAN has also been working according to an internal QM manual for about 20 years.

Nevertheless, it was once again a great challenge to undergo certification and have our quality management assessed by an external auditor. We subjected all processes in the company to a detailed analysis and introduced small improvements and control steps in some areas. All employees were extremely motivated and accepted the extra effort.

All the more we are now pleased to receive our first ISO 9001:2015 certificate. We thank the whole BIRKAN team for a great performance!
